Day 2: Exploring Svalbard
From polar deserts to huge glaciers, the natural landscape here is as varied as the wilderness. On a cruise to this Arctic Circle island, your expedition team will do their best to ensure that you land ashore as often as possible without missing out on anything interesting. The island offers many opportunities for wildlife photography, and since the wildlife of Svalbard is well protected and hardly populated by humans, it is one of the best places in the world to see polar bears in their natural habitat, the Arctic desert.

The ice conditions are unpredictable and it can take up to 8 days to reach our head target, but the unpredictability of the weather conditions makes our expedition feel more adventurous.

Ice-breaker "Le Commandant Charcot"

Cruise <b>North Pole on the first of the world luxury ice-breaker "Le Commandant-Charcot"</b>

Be the first to board Le Commandant-Charcot, the world’s most luxurious icebreaker, and enjoy unique Arctic or Antarctic cruises.
Le Commandant-Charcot is powered by a hybrid engine that combines the use of liquefied natural gas and electric generators to minimize the impact of tourist cruises on the nature of remote regions.
The vessel was finished by two world famous architectural and design companies, the studios of Jean-Philippe Nuel and Jean-Michel Wilmotte, creating a harmonious natural design. Here, a modern approach is combined with the desire to create a warm and sophisticated environment, natural materials (stone, wood and leather) resonate with wildlife overboard.
With a total of 135 cabins, including 31 suites with panoramic balconies, Le Commandant-Charcot invites you to experience a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. Unbeatable cuisine in two restaurants, relaxation in the indoor pool surrounded by a conservatory and relaxation in the spa area with sauna.
Like on a private yacht, every guest will feel special here.
